The Difference Between Manipulation and Social Engineering
Some people say, well, you're just manipulating people. What is really the difference between the social engineering that we do and what we consider to be manipulation? "I can use influence just for my own benefit and hurt someone else," she says. But if I try to influence someone positively thinking about like health changes or getting them to do something that's good for themselves, it doesn't count as manipulation.
