The Perfectionist Mindset
When I think about this idea of you only know what you make, which I feel is an encouragement to put things out. One of my obstacles to doing that is a perfectionism or a fear that it'll be bad. This is why we have side projects. That's why we have experimental, innovative, new prototypes. We have hobbies. To have a part of your life that you can just be a little random and a little playful and improvise without the overbearing weight of corporate or professional expectations. You cannot start new interesting things without at least a period of real messiness.
