What are the chances that John Hughes were able to see it I mean I did do a fair bit of reading around this. He couldn't possibly have logistically actually have seen the film in time to write his own version and then film it and release it the following year yeah. It's just a really interesting fascinating parallel here because yes you've got two movies that narrative wise are almost the same but look at how differently they're handled.
