Is There a Punitive Damages Cap?
The connecticut punitive damages cap appears to be strictly tied to the attorney's fees expended in the matter. Having a dozen plaintiffs with the diversity you talked about greatly increases the probability that the actual damages being awarded are going to be significantly higher. There is case law on point that says the connecticut unfair trade practices act permits punitive damages and attorneys fees that common law does not ordinarily permit.
