How to Enable External Authentication on Your Patreon Account
Patreon integration works with the plugin for discourse is by OAuth2. You don't technically need to create a local account at all. That can happen automatically via patreon's OAuth2 and I've also enabled OAuth2 from GitHub. What gets a little strange is once you enable OAuth2 for your account, it turns off the 2FA.
