What's the Function of a Pseudo-Scientific Approach to Collecting Public Opinion?
Sophology is a book by Stuart hall about the ways in which political science has been applied to public opinion. In it, Hall argues that quantitative methods of measuring public opinion have left out any idea of practice. He says we should be trying to agitate for transforming this public opinion and not just what people think they like. It's one thing to test more accurately the balance of political forces at any one time but quite another when politics becomes a question of sampling the state of public opinion as it exists.
