Stuff You Missed in History Class

CHAPTER

The Ride on the Carasel in 1861

In 18 61 Thomas bradshaw debued his steam driven carasel in bolton, england. It contained a london built boiler unit, an engine and horses that had been made by bradshaw himself. A similar caracel was operating at a fair in halifax in 18 63. But for the most part it seems to have been like a pay for play situation. You come and do this work, and then at the end of the day you get rewarded with a ride on the carasel. And some mechanisms did not involve children, and they were turned by horses, or, more often than at fairs, ponies.
