BBC Verify: An Attempt to Tackle Open Source Publishing
BBC have formed a group called BBC Verify to fact check and cross check. They've got a group of people who are trying to create detection mechanisms that will automatically scan for watermarks. The BBC have the resources and the responsibilities to do this work, but that's not a Twitter-sized, Facebook-sized solution. That's a journalism-sized solution, so obviously categories either side.
