You Can Lead a Horse to Water, but You Can't Make It Think

When someone challenges my evidence or claims know something that i think is false, which is just to get really curious and say, what evidence would change your mind? I don't always remember to ask the question. But in the situations where i've pulled it off, it has completely changed the tone of the conversation. And so when i ask them to tell me what a well designed study is going to look like, we can then agree on what valid methods are. Once i tell them what the findings are using chosen methods, it's a lot harder for them to just have a knee jerk objection.
