In 2019, National Geographic published an article that revealed how hundreds of zoos had been accused of mistreating the animals in their care. The thing that is important to remember here is that these animals are not domesticated. It's taken thousands upon thousands of years for dogs to become domesticated and enjoy human interaction. Whereas these lions are elephants aren't just giant dogs,. And I swear, every animal cartoon basically ends up like a dog in kids movies, but that's just not how the world works.
