It's not that multi-sigs are inherently evil either, but the combination of a multi-sig controlled by a known set of individuals is really like this centralization risk here. If we're able to reduce the average fee for $700 billion of remittances every year, from 6% to say 1%, which I think is definitely possible on a blockchain network, that's a win. Not everything has to be decentralized. Obviously, I feel like the best scenario is that there should always be a decentralized and permissionless option for the 0.1% of people that really want it.
