How to Block Flashing Elements on Websites

Gmail has been adding flashing elements to its user interface. Scott Alexander says he can no longer write things on Gmail after compose and copy paste. Google's response: We don't support disabling that feature. If your site does this, I hate you and will try to avoid using your product.
