The Dangers of Allowing Extremists to Become Public Spokespeople

I'm a little bit more wary of when people who are formerly extremists become public spokespeople in general. I have seen too many former extremists have a brief period of sanity and then go kind of careening over to the opposite extreme. We need to always continue to evaluate what people are saying and evaluate when they're making sense and when they stop making sense.
