The Importance of Environmentalism in America

Back during the Cold War, Americans took a lot of pride in preserving their rivers and streams. After Clinton and Gore got elected, they made environmentalism a huge deal. Polls from 1989 show Americans only have a five point difference between Republicans and Democrats. And now there's a 28 point difference. It's like these fights about details and not about do birds matter.
