Anti samatism has a long history before the first world war, way before the great depression. jewish people were iing quite a bit of economic prosperity at the time but they had dwindling political power and representation. The aristocracy was viewed as being a burden, being exploiters. And even in france, where anti semitism ran rampant among pretty much every single european country leading up to world war too.
