Introduction

After Verna and Doug drowned off Santa Cruz Island on January 2nd, 1981, their bodies were flown by helicopter back to Ventura County. The next day, they were autopsied by the county's acting medical examiner who concluded that they drowned by accident. Candy Hinman wanted someone to investigate Fred, so she called the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department. Three months after Verna andDoug died, Fred was arrested at home in Malibu. This will be the re-autopsy examination of a white male child identified as Douglas Johnson.
