Real Dictators

CHAPTER

The Great Corsica by Andrew Roberts

Despite the island's appalling poverty, the buonapartes are some of the more fortunate ones. Carlo is educated, a lawyer, and they have two houses, one in the town of ajacio, another in the country. Letitia will bear 13 children in all, only eight of whom will survive under their new french rulers.
