Is There a Recession?
If you had asked me back li let' say, in two thousand five, well removed from the current political debates, and before a trump came along and broke us politics, i would have said yes. A rule of thumb though, is generally speaking, two quarters. If that shrinks two quarters in a row, then that's sort of the rule of thumb definition of a recession. And so the motivation for that, clearly, was that they wanted to not let the republicans be able to hang a recession around joe bydon's neck.
