The Speed of Revolutionary Change

The speed of change can be explained in some ways by the extent of preference falsification. In repressive regimes, there are millions of people who are doing what is expected of them but don't reveal themselves. While they are becoming increasingly disillusioned, they are going along and informing on others. But if a few people get to the point where they do say, enough is enough, you get to the point when you're ready to jump in. We don't know until a movement gets going, we don't see that actually, the potential is there....
