There is no New Testament word, phrase, title, name that was understood to refer to a trium God. By the time of Augustine, it's everywhere. You have Logos theorists and then you have more modalist sympathizers like Marcellus of Ankyra. But yeah, they're still Unitarians. It's a view that you only really see in the fourth century.
