The Balrogs were those initial, the initial ones that fell. They were the ones who first adhered to him. And they became most like him and his corruption. The notion that he was affiliated with another Valla at first does suggest that he came into Arda before. I mean, it may be that he was associated with Halle ahead of previously. But yeah, that's a very good point.
