The Case of Lucy's Death
Baby J was a little girl who the prosecution believed Lucy attempted to murder on November 27, 2015. The charge nurse thought she needed a break after dealing with so many babies who had died. Despite only needing to feed the medically stable babies, Baby J suffered an unexplained collapse which caused her to be moved to the high dependency room or the HDR section. At this point in time, Lucy had come under suspicion by two of the other doctors and asked that Lucy be removed from the neonatal unit. This request was categorically denied. Dr. J. Ram felt uneasy about the situation as Lucy seemed to be a common factor in these distressing events.
