My preference as a consumer would be to buy clothes that are made in the developing world ethically. I think trade and capitalism lift people out of poverty. No better way to do it than I'm aware of. But we also have to reconcile to what extent are we comfortable with trading with countries that maybe practice things that are human rights violations? Do we care? And if we care, what do we do about it?
