The Fist of God and the Afghan
The Afghan published August 2006 is kind of an indirect sequel to 1994's The Fist of God which has set all around the Iraq Kuwait war. One that became closely associated with the book was the attempted coup in Equatorial Guinea which was connected with Margaret Thatcher's son Mark, Mark Thatcher so it does have an interplay with real world politics. Another one that rarely stays in my mind is full size 1982 book No Comebacks - a collection of short stories all on the single theme Revenge several a certain island where the author was living at the time and I find they stay in the mind long long long after you've read them.
