Is There a Jewishness in the Public Space?
Yossi Ben-Ghiat: There is an implicit Jewishness in the public space, but there's also a need to make it explicit. He says he noticed how Yom Kippur became what it wasn't for so many secular Israelis - this day of reckoning. And ever since, every year there's this heaviness on Rosh Hashanah that has nothing to do with spiritual holiness.
