What's the Deal With Massive Tetonic Catastrophis?
Mountain belts are linear features that tend to a occur at the boundaries of tectonic plates. You get a compression of the crust where the two plates have come together, like ono two cars if they come together in a car wreck. Sometimes entire blocks of rock can slide catastrophically down and overtop of other rocks. And i think weou know, you have to envisage some kind of crazy conditions like that in order to explain how these things are.
