The Importance of Balance in Policy Development

The most important thing in policy development is just to be, it's just to be guided by the evidence. Even within the Democratic Party, I would say, where someone falls on the more moderate to the more progressive scale is not necessarily the best predictor of where they fall on yimbi is versus nimbi is. The jury is still out on a 1482 which we passed a few years ago, because it's still a fairly new bill and there's probably some work that needs to be done with enforcement but I think the basic model of how rent stabilization was designed in that bill actually is a good way to get get the benefits of rent stabilization without the drawbacks.
