The Social Behavior of Insects

Bristol-based entomologist Thomas O'Shea Weller has just published a study in which they've basically asked an ant colony to make a choice between the famous military tactics, run away, or abandon ship. In ants you have this phenomenon known as haplodipleidae, which means that workers, sisters, are related 75% to each other. That's simply because all of them have the same genetic information from the male, because he only has one set of chromosomes.
