When he was 13, Simmonds tried to get into a hippop concert in New York City. He says there were no security guards and the show was rappy and violent. The rapper recalls his first experience with hip-hop: "It put my stedy on te it started with this" It's been more than 30 years since that night at Long Beach High School when simmonds' life changed forever.
