The Rise of Early Intervention
The number of young people being referred for puberty blockers doubled between 2009 and 2015. The age limit was previously 12, but in 2014 they did away with it altogether. It's now available to anyone who has reached what is called tanner stage two - early puberty. For girls that could be as young as nine or 10.
