The poultry industry is ripe for reform from all angles, but there's a lot of agricultural lobbying that stops anything from happening. After hatching chicks raised by hens are kinder to each other. The sound of the mother hen actually is kickstarting their brain and creating new neural pathways that chickens hatched artificially don't have. But yeah, when you lay it all out like that in a list, things are bad for the chicken.
