At just eight years old, Jennifer was dying. It had been at least 14 hours since the man dragged her into the field,. completely naked on top of a fire ant hill, beaten, bitten, and her neck slit. And she closed her eyes one last time thinking it would surely be the last time. She could hear people right now, like young little kids playing in the field. These weren't Jennifer's friends, but they were all very close in age. That little girl ran giggling until she tripped over Jennifer's limp foot.
