The North Korean Workers Party

North Korea evolved from a coalition based on widespread people's committees. The formal founding of the North Korean Workers Party was in August 1946. Though other parties existed, such as the Chosan Democratic Party and the charmingly named Friends Party. Central Agencies' nationalized major industries; they were owned mostly by the Japanese.
