The Origins of Christianity in the Fourth Century

Before the New Testament period, Christianity is a marginalized minority religion. Nowhere would Paul ever imagine that the Caesar would be Christian,. That's just an unimaginable, right? Why? Because that's not the place of Christianity. So Christianity's place is to be at the margins and proclaim in a counter-kingdom. We do not rebel. We love our enemies. We feed and clothe those who persecute us. At the beginning of the story, it's never a question of power. At the end of the stories, that may work.
