The History of Water on the Moon

For a long time, scientists thought the moon was this barren, churned up rocky surface with very little that could sustain life in the future. What we realized in the last decade or so is that something that we thought didn't exist actually it does exist and that thing is called water. We only really discovered the presence of water on the moon within the last decade. It's not yet confirmed that there is definitely water very near to the surface. No instrument has actually landed at the lunar surface and touched that water.
