The Guardian Statues of King Ttunkamon

Howard Carter opened the first chamber of King Ttunkamon's tomb on November 26, 1922. Archaeologists have found similar fragments in other tombs but these are the only ones recovered whole and intact from a royal tomb. The statues to either side were guarding another chamber. Robbers had entered once or twice, but they had done little damage. Beyond was an array of items stacked together, jumbled and disordered.
