I think the real hope or promise that a lot of people have is that these kinds of data can be used potentially for ecological forecasting. I was pleasantly surprised, it's kind of the point in their willingness to at least try to be nimble and ask for the things that at least a little while ago was, oh, we can't do this. So it's been a pleasant surprise. In some ways the promise of having an ecological observatory network is that by standardizing you also have the power of making comparisons that aren't confounded by variation in the way the data were collected.
