Nearly 75% of nonorganic fresh produce sold in the US contains residues of potentially harmful pesticides. The USDA peels and scrubs and washes samples before testing, which is even scarier that they get that many pesticides out of it. And then the FDA removes dirt before testing its samples, but doesn't bother peeling or scrubbing or washing.
