Germans were nervous that their ukranian colleagues would be arrested, and they didn't want to put them at risk. It was a strange conversation, because it really ended up, to some extent, being a german russian conversation about ukrane. I felt like, wellwait, this isn't a morally sustainable position. Either you believe in human rights for everybody, or you don't, and then you don't. And so but i've geen like, i'm looking at this from the side, because i'm not european.
