The Modern Synthesis Has Been Unleashed

The modern synthesis has been unraveled. I don't think it can be put back together again. Julian Huxley in the second edition of his book, Evolution the Modern Synthesis published in 1963 simply said, well, proteins have been dethroned. But I don't know whether one wants to enthrone any molecule in the body. Richard Dawkins says they're sort of encased in their germline. They cannot be altered. So we as organisms cannot in any way influence what's passed on to later generations. Now I come to an extraordinary fact Darwin would never have agreed with that.
