The sargasso sea is a big area in the atlantic ocean that's to the north of the coribbean and southeast of bermuda. It's a strange sea in that it doesn't have any land borders. Both cynthia and i first across the sargaso sea in a book title the wide sargassoSea, which is like a feminist, post colonial prequel to jane eyr. But even though i'd heard of it, i had no real idea where it was.
Where eels come from is a surprisingly difficult question to answer, in large part because scientists have never actually seen them reproduce in the wild. Gastropod explains why eels are somehow still so mysterious.
