00:00
Introduction
Emperors of Rome is a Roman history podcast from Lutrobe University. Dr Andrew Connor, lecturer at the Centre for Ancient Cultures in Australia, joins Matt Smith to talk about Augustin, Egypt. The province was part of the Ptolemaic dynasty until 30 BCE when Octavian seizes it and turns it into Iguptus' province. A papari has led to the belief that Augustus confiscated lands of the Egyptian temples, leading to the decline of their religions. In this episode we look at what happened after Cleopatra's death with Mark Antony taking over as emperor.
