Predicting the Next Moment
It's a human it's in our nature to want to predict. And we have a whole history as a species of predicting the next moment. Most people, most of the time, is what they see in their mind is all they think there is. The person who can hold two or three thoughts in their head, like you were just doing this, could easily deal with a situation. It's entirely rational, course, but it's explanations after the fact and that's where the problem starts for so many people.
