The NRSV and the Apocrypha

I think in at least in mainline Christianity, mainline denominations, there's more of an openness to the Apocryphal books. We didn't study any of that. I think they included that as an option because the books are of some historical interest and have some value in understanding some history. But there was never really anything that I was taught, either in the church itself or at seminary that would suggest that those books should be used in the context of worship.
