Are We Infected by Viruses in Our Genes?

Three day old human embryos were filled with viral particles. The proteins of it get expressed, and they obviusly viral proteins at day three. And their job is to circulate around the embryo to stop it from getting infected by other viruses. Seven to nine per cent of our ganom is viral. So i thought that was just crazy.
