The Markers of Bad Decision-Making
Good decision-makers pay attention to the contradictory evidence. They hold on to their initial belief, often until it's too late. It's easier when you work with people who are less experienced because they haven't formulated such strong ideas about what's supposed to happen. One police officer that I interviewed as we were doing this work was just a really solid police officer in terms of the way he was built. His arms were thicker than my legs. And he said when he became a police officer, he wanted the action. He wanted to get bad guys and arrest them.
