There's archaeological evidence suggesting that in early Christian history, psychedelics could have been used. We know that psychedelic substances have existed in various forms throughout the world. Now we're at a point in history where we can actually test some of these experiences with psychedelics scientifically. So what happens in the brain when one uses psychedelics during a religious experience or ritual and how does it compare to people who are doing maybe the same exact ritual or experience but not on psychedelics?
