The Importance of Telezio in the Renaissance

Francis Bacon famously called Telezio the first of the moderns. In 1560s he was proposing a new natural philosophy that resonates with those that will emerge in 17th century. Even Telezio's irreverence toward the ancients could find support in the ancients themselves.
