Do I Need More Salt Than Absolute Salt?
Sodium density was just as good or a better predictor of blood pressure changes than absolute sodium. An athlete may need more sodium than someone who is sedentary and not really eating a ton. High salt causes a reduction in antioxidant enzyme expression, which exercise was able to rescue. And then high salt also causes an increase in pro-oxinate enzyme expression again such as NADPH oxidase. So there's some validity to that, but there's just not a ton of literature yet.
