Matthew and his co authors wanted to see if the results changed once radio and t v entere the picture. If you look at places where a newspaper entered, turnout increases in the following election. In ten of americas thirty e cities, fewer than fifteen per cent of voters turned out to vote for mayor. Sixty one per cent of illigible voters. Seem sky high for a variety of reasons, some of which we might not understand....
